Community Description
Lockmeade is a neighborhood in Great Falls, Virginia. It’s off the westbound side of Route 7 between Springvale Road and Utterback Store Road. There are approximately 150 of homes on half-acre lots. The main entrance to the community is Riva Ridge Drive, which connects to Springvale Road via Wynkoop Drive. Some homes on Riva Ridge Drive back up to the 5 acres of the Lockmeade Park.
About 115 homes of the Lockmeade tract closest to the Georgetown Pike are part of Foxvale Farm HOA. The neighborhood was developed by Pulte Homes in 1983 and ranks as one of the earliest neighborhoods developed close to the center of town. Most residences are on 1/2 acre home sites and have a Williamsburg look and feel.
Some homes back up to the 55 acres of common area in the community, and residents also enjoy the yearly Easter Parade, Halloween Costume Walk, and neighborhood social gatherings year round. The Nike Observatory is across the street from the community.
