I’ve been fortunate to call Great Falls home for nearly 10 years. It’s a small town with about 8500 people. The Falls on the Potomac River is the main attraction. There are also horse farms, winding country roads, and a small center that’s the focal point for events ranging from summer concerts to easter egg hunts. Homes cover a wide range of styles from contemporary to the popular red brick colonial. Many come to the town to buy land for a custom home site. After all, that’s how I ended up here.
Great Falls is home to wooded parks, including the 800 acre Great Falls Park administered by the US National Park Service and the 400 acre Riverbend Park maintained by Fairfax County. Loyal readers of my blog know that my 2 Norfolk Terriers, Hank & Otto, are regular visitors to both parks. The seasonal flooding can’t even keep them away.
